Catalytic dehydrogenation of ethanol over zinc-containing zeolites

چکیده

Catalytic dehydrogenation of ethanol produces acetaldehyde, an important precursor for several value-added chemicals such as acetic acid and acetate esters. In this paper, we demonstrate that Zn-containing MFI zeolites are highly active selective catalysts process. Furthermore, show their activity selectivity depend on the chemical composition preparation catalysts. The best catalyst comprises 5 wt% Zn Silicalite-1 zeolite results in 65.2% conversion 94.5% towards acetaldehyde at 400 ?. We relate high to absence Brønsted acidic silanol groups, which suppresses dehydration into ethylene. while pure HZSM-5 NaZSM-5 result products, ethylene diethyl ether, also confirms is site. Finally, compare different procedures Zn-species may be catalytic reaction.

Catalytic Isomerization of Dihydroxyacetone to Lactic Acid and Alkyl Lactates over Hierarchical Zeolites Containing Tin

Hierarchical zeolites containing tin were obtained, characterized and used in a reaction of catalytic isomerization of dihydroxyacetone (DHA) to lactic acid and alkyl lactates. These catalysts are characterized by preserved crystallinity and primary microporosity with the simultaneous existence of secondary porosity regarding mesopores, which facilitates access of large molecules of reagents to...

Catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation of propane over Mg–V/Mo oxides

Fifteen distinct MgO–V2O5, MgO–MoO3, MgO–V2O5–MoO3, and V2O5–MoO3 compositions were prepared using sol–gel chemistry and their selectivities and conversions for propane oxidative dehydrogenation (ODH) to propylene were measured. The vanadates were more active than the molybdates at lower temperatures; however, the molybdates exhibited higher selectivities at similar conversions. An increase in ...

Catalytic hydrogenation of alkenes on acidic zeolites: Mechanistic connections to monomolecular alkane dehydrogenation reactions

Brønsted acid sites in zeolites (H-FER, H-MFI, H-MOR) selectively hydrogenate alkenes in excess H2 at high temperatures (>700 K) and at rates proportional to alkene and H2 pressures. This kinetic behavior and the De Donder equations for non-equilibrium thermodynamics show that, even away from equilibrium, alkene hydrogenation and monomolecular alkane dehydrogenation occur on predominantly uncov...

Catalytic modification in dehydrogenation properties of KSiH3.

A number of known catalysts, which have been proven to be very effective for several hydrogen species, were studied in order to determine their effects on the hydrogen ab/desorption properties of KSiH3. Among all the catalysts used in this work, mesoporous Nb2O5 is found to be quite effective, with a reduction in activation energy from 142 kJ mol(-1) for pristine KSi to 63 kJ mol(-1) for mesopo...

Catalytic dehydrogenation of isopentane with iridium catalysts.

The catalytic activation of alkanes under mild conditions to give the corresponding alkenes and hydrogen has tremendous industrial implications because olefins are the most important starting materials for large-scale industrial processes such as olefin polymerization, dimerization, oligomerization, hydroformylation, and metathesis. In the search for a process by which olefins can be produced f...
